Kano chuckled, the tune hit the air still making sense and flowing nicely but unfamiliar to any who had never played 'Fleeing Dog Rhapsody' backwards.'He could have never heard the original either. Then it was meant for the flute so he may know it..' She watched as the bird's head bobbed with the pitch of the notes and occasionally tilted it's wings.
The card slipped halfway out of the machine for ease of removal as the bird's head clicked back into its original position. "Due to the design of the bird there is no real backwards." Her grin was bright as well with a sparkle to her eyes that hinted at the harmless sort mischief like that of a small child. Taking the same card out she flipped it back to the position Bill had put it in first and watched as it played the rhapsody that was so familiar to her. "It is made so as new music is composed it can be played on the bird as well, this is why it is also a bit bigger then most music boxes.

"Remarkable invention you've got... Let me try something..." Bill said as the tune, taking out his flute and pushing the card back in. "Don't balls this up Billy." He took a breath and started playing along, only missing a couple notes along the way. When it stopped and the card popped out he put he started cleaning his flute. "What's that song called? I think I've heard it before..." He asked, not even looking at what he was doing.

"It's the Fleeing Dog Rhapsody, a pretty common street musician tune in Haribute," Kano chuckled, her birth-town was famous for the ridiculously named tunes played there. Reflective golden eyes squinted as one of the serving girls revealed that the pair had been sitting here all night chatting. Blinking enough to clear her eyesight she burst into a fit of giggles as the drunks in the corner began rambling.
Kano had managed to regain herself when the serving maid came over for need of payment. Noticing that Bill was busy staring at her eyes, she paid for them both before speaking. "Morning, I guess."

Bill blinked. "Morning!" He said, chuckling along with her, grinning as his mind wandered. [i["Time passes so oddly these days..."[/i] He glanced around a moment, watching as the serving maid walked away with Keno's money. "Oh, I was going to pay... Thanks Keno." He said quickly, before remembering to jot down the name of the song and town in a small moleskine journal that he produced from the inside of his coat. He licked his lips a moment, trying to think of what to say. ((I feel like my posts should be longer )

"Oh it's fine." Kano quickly pocketed her bird and punch cards, thrown into giggles again at a terribly loud cry of 'I swear to drunk I'm not god.' The mirth in her smile remained when she finished laughing, "Where do you head from here?" Vaguely hoping that they could continue the current companionship, but not holding to tightly on the thought.
(Don't, your posts are longer than some of the admins, and I wouldn't want you to feel pressured. I'm having fun, and if you are not having mutual fun we can stop. Also feel free to PM me whenever, OOC conversation and plotworking are better there.)

Bill watched her laugh and smile for a moment, grinning at the sight. "Well, possibly out of town, but I don't much know which way to go. I know I said the best adventures start with more questions, but there's no adventure when you're stuck." He said with a slight sigh, before blinking, and sitting up and throwing his hand in the air, before pointing it at the shifter. "But you travel, don't you?" Bill said with a gleam in his eye.
((Oh no, I'm having a blast! And alrighty, I'll do that.))

For the sake of amusement, Kano went cross-eyed, looking at the gesturing finger for a second before responding further. "And when did you hear that traveling clockmakers travel? The idea is simply preposterous!" In a display of willpower she remained strait-faced for ten seconds before grinning and giggling again. Her knowledge of getting from place to place was what kept her alive, and so she had options despite the lacking knowledge of names unless she had been there before.
"Out of town to another town, or are you hoping for something else? There are options."
(Yay~ Fun is fun.)

Bill smiled and laughed with her, leaning his chair back until it almost fell over, before flinging himself back forward. "Well Keno, I do love options. What kind of options?" He said, tilting his head to the side. The more he thought about, the more he liked the idea of traveling with the clock-eyed catmaker cat-eyed clockmaker.
"Don't get too crazy on her yet Billy, too much could ruin it. Feeding and drinking shouldn't make your self-control this horrible. You think this is horrible? Just watc- No you don't, we get your point..." Bill shook his head a moment, lost in thought.

"Oceans, less developed towns, more developed towns, mountains, open-spaced grazing hills, merchant paths, and deserts if that's what you want." Waiting for the man to choose she pulled out a broken winding watch and began to fiddle with it, not taking it apart and really fixing the problem but merely figuring out what was broken and playing with the clasp.
Kano eventually found that it had been wound past its limit and a delicate gear had snapped. Shaking it provided a few seconds of ticking she discovered by doing so and holding it to her ear. Shining golden eyes tried to discern the thoughts of green ones for a moment before falling back to the frustratingly small watch.

"You know the one thing better than a sunset from the top of a clocktower? From the top of a mountain. And doing some sightseeing on the way wouldn't hurt, now would it?" Bill said as he watched her fiddle with the watch, grinning a little when he just barely picked up on the ticking. Then he remembered he was still holding his flute, finely cleaned, and then some. When he slide it back on his staff, he traced his finger along the intricate dragon design engraved into the bone, and over the initials on the bottom.

"Would you like to head out now or is there anything you need from the town fist?" Standing up and pushing her chair in as she spoke. Kano had equipment for many terrains, either lining the inside of her favorite coat, or crammed in the black bag on her back that was held in place by an equally dark strap.
All three of her coats could hold an amazing amount of stuff inside them and were designed similarly but with adaptations for the climates Kano could wind up facing as she traveled. She did like the soft fabric of her cold-inclined coat and the fur on the collar reminded her of days spent working in the shoppe to satisfy the old man in the coat as a storm raged just outside the door and a silky cat observed her every move. Kano wondered a bit if the cat the old man had told to follow her was still doing so. 'The persistent bugger is probably just outside too'

Bill paused for a moment, pulling his journal out again for a moment, flipping the pages until he found one that was clearly about to fall out. He scanned it quickly before snapping it shut and stowing it away again. "Nothing essential, if you're ready to go, we can go. So exciting, I miss traveling with people." He said with a toothy grin as he lifted himself up with his staff and shoved the chair into the table. Not sure how Kano was feeling, he decided to be safe and let her walk in front of him for now, and waited for her to head out. Bill threw his worn brown leather bag on over his shoulder, bottles, vials, and beakers clanking around inside.

Stepping out into the dawn Kano re-assessed the town. "Industry was...That way!" Glancing back occasionally to make sure Bill was following she ducked into an ally. Weaving her way though the labrinth of back-streets with relaxed confidence a cat followed at her heels, providing another pair of eyes to keep the illusion away.
The grey sky of the industrial area made everything seem rather monochrome, shades of black and white with anything in-between dull when compared to where they had been minutes ago. Two pairs of feline eyes awaited the green ones hopefully around the corner. Yellow met bright blue for a moment, before a meow crackled into the air. "You're really stubborn. You know that Tuono?" Another meow from the ginger cat came in reply followed by an eye-roll from Kano. "Watch the oil, you should have plenty of practice with this by now you little punk."
Another meow hit the air followed by purring as Kano plucked the fuzzball from the ground and placed it on her shoulder. 'I hope he's okay with cats..' "Do you mind if a friend of mine from the clock-shoppe joins us?"

He followed after her quickly, hobbling along behind her. But she darted through the streets quickly. "Hold...on!" Bill shouted after her, able to.at the very least follow her with his eyes. "Damn she's quick... I like it." He thought as he finally caught up, hearing her question. "A friend? Who?" He asked, staring for a moment before finally realizing she had a cat on her shoulder. "Do you mean the cat?" After a moment, he meowed at it, showing it his sharp teeth.
While standing there he took in the surrounding cityscape, the muggy smoke and clouds, the sounds of clinking and clanking machines, running and shouting of workers. He had seen similar before, but it always fascinated him to see new things.

"Tuono. Yes, he is a cat." The cat glanced at her and then the man, watching in curiosity as he meowed. The feline graced Bill with a vocalization in return, the meow seeming almost sarcastic. Tuono pushed Kano's hood down earning a glare and a huff. An engine in the wall next to them suddenly made rumbling noises and outcry could be heard within the building. "It's rather typical of that line of engine to do that. I've seen this happen before so.."
Turning several knobs pausing and listening at the groaning noise it made before kicking it she solved the issue before a worker could make it outside and over to them. The engine regained the hum it had previously and Kano turned back to Bill. "Do you need me to slow down?" The two pairs of feline eyes once again settled on Bill waiting for a response before they would move again.
